OBT - Earth Observation General Coordination

Program Description: The mission of Earth Observation General Coordinatin (OBT) at The Brazil National Institute for Space Research (INPE) is to be the scientific and technological leader in the use of Remote Sensing and Geoprocessing, acquiring a better knowledge of the Brazilian territory and continental sea. The Ministry of Science and Technologyhas made available remote sensing historical data: Images from Landsat 1/2/3 (MSS sensor) from 1973 to 1983. This collection of LANDSAT (MSS, TM and ETM) images is very useful for observing the evolution of different natural and social processes, showing the shape of the Brazilian territory in the past 30 years.

Organization Description: Collaborators are located in the United States and Brazil. The PRODES and Deter projects have interactions with NOAA.

Data Description: Small file transfer and occasional large file transfers at speeds between 100Mpbs to 1 Gbps.
